Technology Standards

Overview

This document is to provide information regarding the relevant technology standards to be maintained by clients referenced in our Terms & Conditions ( https://www.lighthousesol.com/legal ) as well as the Approved Software List that Lighthouse is able to inclusively support as a part of our Managed Services Plans.

Minimum Equipment Standards

Clients should maintain the following standards at a minimum for hardware:
  • Workstations/Laptops
    • CPU: Intel Core i3 (or AMD Equivalent)
    • Memory: 8GB Memory or better
    • Storage: 128GB SSD or 500GB Rotational Disk at 5400 RPM or better
    • Network: Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Wired Network Interface Card (if equipped with wired interface, otherwise requires wireless network card)
    • Wireless Network: 802.11n Wireless Network Card (required if not equipped with wired network interface)
    • Operating System: Windows 10 Professional Build 22H2 or later
    • System Age: Less than 5 years.
  • Servers
    • CPU: Intel Core i7 Quad Core or better
    • Memory: 16GB Memory
    • Storage: Redundant Disk Storage in RAID1, RAID5, RAID6, or RAID10.
    • Network: Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Wired Network Interface Card
    • Operating System: Windows Server 2016 or later; Debian 9 or later; Scale Linux; EdgeLinux
    • Hypervisors Platforms: Scale HyperCore, Hyper-V, VMware, KVM on Antsle
    • System Age: Less than 7 years
  • Network Switching
    • Manufacturer: Arista, Aruba/HPE, Datto, Cambium, Mako Networks, or Meraki
    • 10/100/1000 Mbps Auto-Negotiating
    • Auto MDI/MDIX (Crossover)
    • Layer 2 Management
    • PoE (if utilizing Voice over IP)
  • Edge Security (Firewall)
    • Meraki MX Series
    • Arista Networks/Untangle-produced Devices
    • Mako Networks
  • Wireless Access Points
    • Datto AP
    • Meraki MR Series
    • Arista
    • Mako Networks

Recommended Technology Platform

  • Workstations/Laptops
    • CPU: Intel Core i5 (or AMD Equivalent)
    • Memory: 16GB Memory or better
    • Storage: 256GB SSD (NVMe preferred) or better
    • Network: Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Wired Network Interface Card (if equipped with wired interface, otherwise requires wireless network card)
    • Wireless Network: 802.11ac Wireless Network Card (required if not equipped with wired network interface)
    • Operating System: Windows 10 Professional Build 23H1 or later
    • System Age: Less than 3 years
  • Servers*
    • CPU: Intel Xeon Quad-Core or better
    • Memory: 32GB Memory
    • Storage: Redundant Disk Storage in RAID1, RAID5, RAID6, or RAID10
    • Network: Dual Gigabit (1000 Mbps) Wired Network Interface Card
    • Operating System: Windows Server 2019 or later; Debian 10 or later; Scale Linux
    • Hypervisors Platforms: Scale Computing HyperCore; Microsoft Hyper-V
    • System Age: Less than 5 years
* These specifications may be relaxed in clustered environments on a per-node basis.

Approved Backup and Business Continuity Platforms

The following solutions are supported by Lighthouse IT Solutions for the backup and recovery of client servers and/or workstations. Recovery utilizing any other solution is not supported.
  • Datto BCDR
  • Datto Saas Protection (for Microsoft 365)
  • Axcient x360 Recover
  • Axcient x360 Cloud (for Microsoft 365)

Approved Software List

The applications listed below are supported by Lighthouse IT Solutions inclusively by our managed services, provided that the installed version is still supported by the vendor. Applications not on this list may still be supported at our discretion or support may be provided outside the scope of our Managed Services Agreement.
